Kindred Spirits: Equine Education & Therapy Center 501(c)(3)

Mission Statement

At Kindred Spirits, our  501(c)(3) non-profit mission is to prioritize the well-being of our horses, as they serve as the cornerstone of our programmatic efforts. Our programs cater to individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities, survivors of abuse and neglect, first responders, veterans, and those facing economic challenges. Simultaneously, our programs have been carefully designed to create opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment. By creating inclusive spaces, we strive to foster wellness, strength, and hope, aiming to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the community and the people we serve.

Guiding Principles

Equine Welfare

We prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of every horse in our care. Our commitment to comprehensive therapeutic equine programs goes hand-in-hand with horse rescue and education, ensuring their well-being remains at the forefront of our mission.

Inclusivity & Accessibility

We believe in the transformative power of equine therapy for individuals facing physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges, as well as those from marginalized communities. Our programs are designed to be inclusive, providing opportunities for growth, learning, and empowerment for individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Holistic Healing Approach

The use of horses in our equine-assisted programs aim to enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals. We recognize the unique bond between humans and horses as a catalyst for personal growth, improved communication skills, self-confidence, learning and healing.

Education, Advocacy, & Support Services

Beyond therapy, we are dedicated to providing a comprehensive range of educational and support services to our community. Advocating for horse welfare, our mission extends to fostering awareness and creating spaces for underrepresented and vulnerable populations within our community.

Transparency & Accountability

We operate with transparency and accountability in every facet of our organization, ranging from our financial practices and community engagement, to the treatment of our equine partners.
